Acne Scar Revision

What Is Acne Scar Revision?

This Is The Ultimate Treatment For Your Acne Scars

  • Lumenis® offers a range of solutions for acne scar revision, including DeepFX™ | ActiveFX™
  • Developed by the pioneer of aesthetic medicine and trusted by leading professionals around the world.
  • We can offer you amazing improvements in both the tone and the texture of your acne scars.
  • Effective for different types of scars, such as shallow round or deep scars.
  • Remodels your skin’s structure, stimulating it to regenerate itself.

What to Expect

  • Improvement in the tone and texture of your acne scars and your overall complexion will appear more even.
  • You should expect to continue to see improvement for up to 18 months following the procedure.
  • Immediately following treatment, the treated areas of your skin will be warm and may be slightly red and swollen, depending on your customized treatment settings.
  • To support you in the healing process, a daily skincare routine should be prescribed.

How Does It Work?

  • The Lumenis® fractional laser creates microscopic channels that remove small portions of scar tissue and trigger the production of new collagen and elastic fibers, while leaving some unaffected skin in between the channels to reduce healing time.
  • The base of the scar is treated in a deeper mode and the surrounding unaffected area is treated more superficially to achieve an even and satisfying result.
  • To minimize discomfort during the treatment, a local anesthetic should be applied to numb your skin. Depending on the treatment area, you can expect the session to last approximately 20-30 minutes.
  • During the treatment you may feel a warm sensation as the laser is applied but you should not feel any discomfort.

Before and After Treatment

Photofractional

What Is Photofractional

  • Complete skin rejuvenation solution, enabling your physician to offer you remarkable results on a range of skin aging concerns such as age and sun spots, vascular lesions, uneven texture and skin tone.
  • Includes two solutions: IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and ResurFX™ non-ablative skin resurfacing, so that both skin tone and texture can be treated at the same session.
  • Not suitable for everyone and carry some risks. Photofractional™ is not suitable when you have active infections, viral, fungal or bacterial diseases, inflammatory skin conditions or skin cancer. Risks may include: redness, swelling, scarring or change in pigmentation. Be sure to consult with your treatment provider before choosing this treatment.

What to Expect

  • Already after the first session, you may begin to notice improvement in skin tone and pigmentation.
  • About 3 sessions are needed to have visible improvement in the skin texture. Optimal results are typically achieved after 3-5 sessions in 2-6 weeks intervals. However, you may continue to see improvements for up to six months following the treatment.
  • Immediately following treatment, you may experience some redness or swelling, depending on your customized treatment settings. The swelling will usually diminish after a few hours and the redness as quickly as the next day or over the next few days. Most patients are able to resume their daily activities the very same day.
  • By combining both IPL and ResurFX™ technologies, both skin pigmentation and texture can be treated at the same time.

How Does It Work?

  • By using both IPL and ResurFX™ technologies, both skin pigmentation and texture can be treated at the same session.
  • Removes both unwanted pigmentation and blood vessels from the skin, while the ResurFX™ fractional laser stimulates the production of new collagen and elastic fibers in the deeper layers of the skin. Stimulating new collagen production is the key to a more radiant, youthful looking skin.
  • To ensure utmost comfort, your physician should typically apply a topical numbing cream before treatment and/or use air cooling during treatment. Depending on your specific concern, you can expect the session to last 15-30 minutes.
  • You may experience a warm or prickling sensation as the laser is applied to the skin, but the treatment is gentle and should not feel uncomfortable.

Photorejuvenation

What Is Photorejuvenation?

  • Photorejuvenation treatment offers you remarkable results on a range of skin concerns such as age and sun spots, freckles, birthmarks, rosacea and broken capillaries.
  • Gently and effectively eliminates spots, discolorations, and unwanted blood vessels.
  • Lumenis® energy-based treatments are not suitable for everyone and carry some risks. Optima™ IPL is not suitable when you have active infections, viral, fungal or bacterial diseases, inflammatory skin conditions or skin cancer. Risks may include: redness, swelling and change of pigmentation. Be sure to consult with your treatment provider before choosing this treatment.

What to Expect

  • Photorejuvenation treatment works with your skin to remove your imperfections and stimulate collagen and elastic fiber production over a sequence of treatments. Some skin concerns such as shallow pigmentation and age/sun spots may be cleared with as few as 1-2 treatments.
  • Typically 2-6 sessions with 2-4 weeks in between are needed to achieve optimal results for most skin concerns.
  • You may experience some redness, depending on your customized treatment settings. The redness will usually disappear within a few hours. In most cases, makeup may be immediately applied, and daily activities can be resumed the very same day.
  • Stay out of direct sun for a few days following the treatment and to apply sun screen.

How Does It Work?

  • Allows treatment of pigmentation and vascular imperfections, while improving overall skin appearance.
  • Enables to customize the treatment according to your skin type and desired results. Light pulses penetrate the tissue and create heat, targeting the skin imperfection in a controlled manner. The body’s natural process then removes the treated tissue, while collagen and elastic fiber stimulation occurs, resulting in a visible improvement in skin tone and overall appearance.
  • To ensure utmost comfort, apply cold coupling gel on the treatment area. Depending on your specific concern, you can expect the session to last 15-30 minutes.
  • You may experience a warm sensation as the light is applied to the skin, but the treatment is gentle and should not feel uncomfortable.

Photofractional For Stretch Marks

What Is Photofractional?

  • A non-invasive method for improving the appearance of stretch marks on different areas of your body.
  • Two solutions, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and ResurFX™ non-ablative skin resurfacing, so that both skin tone and texture can be treated.
  • Treatments are not suitable for everyone and carry some risks. Photofractional™ is not suitable when you have active infections, viral, fungal or bacterial diseases, inflammatory skin conditions or skin cancer. Risks may include: redness, swelling, scarring or change of pigmentation. Be sure to consult with your treatment provider before choosing this treatment.

What to Expect

  • Stimulate deep collagen regeneration over a sequence of treatments. The result is a visible smoothening of the affected stretch mark area and an improvement in the discoloration. Already after the first session, you may begin to notice improvement.
  • Typically, 3-5 sessions in 2-6 weeks intervals are needed to obtain optimal results. However, you may continue to see improvements for up to six months following the treatment.
  • You may experience some redness or swelling, depending on your customized treatment settings. The swelling will usually diminish after a few hours and the redness as quickly as the next day or over the next few days. Most patients are able to resume their daily activities the very same day.
  • Advised to stay out of direct sun for a few days following the treatment and to apply sun screen.

How Does It Work?

  • Skin pigmentation and texture can be treated at the same session.
  • Removes unwanted pigment from the skin, while the ResurFX™ fractional laser stimulates the production of new collagen and elastic fibers in the deeper layers of the skin. Stimulating new collagen production is the key to a smoother looking skin.
  • Apply a topical numbing cream before treatment and/or use air cooling during treatment. Depending on the area being treated, you can expect the session to last 15-30 minutes.
  • You may experience a warm or prickling sensation as the laser is applied to the skin, but the treatment is gentle and should not feel uncomfortable.

The NEW High Speed LightSheer with its dramatically increased spot size of 22 mm x 35 mm combined with innovative vacuum-assist technology enables operators to treat larger areas such as backs and legs comfortably in about 15-20 minutes, without topical anesthetics and treatment gel.

High Speed LightSheer Duet reduces treatment times by up to 75%

How does it work?

This exceptional technology uses a laser — an intense, pulsating beam of light — to remove unwanted hair. During this type of hair removal, a laser beam passes through the skin to an individual hair follicle. The intense heat of the laser damages the hair follicle, which inhibits future hair growth.

Until now, hair removal of larger body areas has been considered too time-consuming by some, and too painful by others.

High Speed LightSheer – Reduces Treatment Times up to 75% & Significantly Improves Comfort.

When will you see results?

Results differ amongst patients. While some of the hair that has been treated will never re-grow, some will re-grow much weaker and thinner and a number of treatments may be necessary to ensure that these do not return. The reason for this is that hairs need to be treated in the growing cycle rather than the resting cycle and only 60% are growing at any one time.

LightSheer diode lasers are widely recognized as the ‘gold standard’ for hair removal and permanent hair reduction across the broadest patient population. LightSheer is clinically proven to be safe and effective since first introduced in the late 1990s, and perfected over time.

How many sessions are necessary?

Because the LightSheer Laser is so fast and efficient, a series of treatments, which in the past may have taken 6-8 sessions is now, typically, reduced to 3-4 sessions. There is a gap of approximately one month to 6 weeks in between each appointment.

There is no point in scheduling appointments closer together as the laser needs to act on the hair in its growth phase to be effective.

While this information is intended to give you a good overall picture of what Laser Hair removal involves, each situation is unique. The best way to find out if this is the right answer for you is to come and see us. There are no sales pitches at Clodagh's Laser and Skin Clinic and we will explain all the options and help you to make the right decision.

How Vacuum Assisted Technology Works.
  • Vacuum gently draws skin into the handpiece, skin is stretched thin and target is pulled closer to the energy source.
  • Energy is applied to target in which melanocytes are spread apart and blood flow is constricted.
  • Target is damaged and skin is released.
Advantages Of High-Speed Vacuum Assisted Technology
  • Efficacy: reduction in competing chromophores enables delivery of laser energy more efficiently.
  • Safety*: less energy is absorbed by the epidermis and lower fluence is required since the target is closer to the energy source.
  • Decreased pain*: The unique vacuum mechanism activates tactile and pressure skin receptors to inhibit the transmission of pain sensation.
  • Skin is cooled before and during treatment.
  • Skin is compressed. Laser beam applied to skin and target is damaged.
Advantages Of ChillTip™ Technology
  • Safety: superior epidermal protection is achieved through ChillTip contact cooling
  • Patient comfort**: by continuously cooling the skin, pain and discomfort are significantly reduced.
  • Efficacy: Compression of the skin rotates follicle closer to the surface, blenches blood vessels and reduces competing chromophores. High fluence enables treatment of areas requiring precision and thin, light hair.
